James Schramko”Scam Artist or Legitimate Guru?

Of course, when someone gets to the œbig time in marketing, or in nearly any other business for that matter, people begin to wonder if he or she is a scam. Take for instance, James Schramko. Scam artist or simply a successful marketer? Lets look at the evidence.

First, lets look at who Internet scam artists might be or what they might do. Chances are, they dont have a history or a reputation. They just materialize out of nowhere and maybe have some kind of exciting and fake background. There is no blog and no other kinds of dated exposure to gauge how long theyve been in the trenches. Of course, don’t rule out that it could just apply to newbies too.

They may also have some kind of schnazzy web page offering a product that is either insanely expensive or insanely cheap, depending on the approach…especially if theyre really vague about what it does. Again, this could, theoretically, be just the sloppy work of an amateur.

Lastly, they either dont deliver a product, or the product doesnt work. Thats the true sign of a scam artist. Naturally, the positive reputation of a scam artist doesnt last very long.

Now, does any of this relate to James Schramko? The answer is no. His blog dates back to April of 2006, at least from whats on the visible archives. Basically, that proves that he has at least some history. He also has a respectable reputation. If you google search œjames schramko scam, youre not going to find anything negative about him.

His web pages are informative and his products are fairly priced. Scratch that one off.

His products get delivered to the customers, and they work. Again, theres nothing controversial on the Net about James Schramko. The three criteria, history and reputation (in one word, authority), promotional style and customer satisfaction all play in to each other. Ultimately, if James Schramko was a scam, he would have been exposed back in 2006.

Work From Home Scams – Tips to Avoid Getting Ripped Off

January 17th, 2010 · Comments Off · Articles

It is estimated that around 99% of internet Work From Home opportunities are scams. Just do a search on the phrase “work from home scams” and you will see what I mean. In response to the growing number of “scammers”, there are now websites dedicated to naming and shaming the scammers. I developed an interest in this area whilst on maternity leave. I started to look into some of these “opportunities” more for my own interest than anything else. There are some genuine opportunities out there. I’ve put them all together on my website, www.moneymakingmap.net.

Obviously my website doesn’t cover every single opportunity out there, so here are a few tips to help you avoid getting ripped off.

1. CONTACT and SUPPORT. Many websites promise 24 hour support to help you get up and running and become successful. In many cases, this support simply does not exist. The first and most important thing to do is EMAIL and PHONE them, just to see what response you get. Often this is a bit of an eye-opener about what sort of support you will be offered once you sign up. The alarm bells will be ringing if this doesn’t go well.

2. SCAM SEARCH. This is vital! Do a Google search and include the name of the website and/or company and the word “scam” and see what comes up. If I found a site with poor reviews, I simply didn’t go any further with them and I certainly didn’t include them in my website. If you can’t find any negative reviews on a website/company, of course it does not mean they aren’t scammers, so still proceed with caution.

3. SCAMMER WEBSITES. With the numbers of internet scams increasing steadily, there are now watchdog sites out there dedicated to naming and shaming the scammers. I recommend having a look at www.scambusters.org, and www.scamfreeinternet.com.

4. KEEP YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKET. Don’t sign up and spend megabucks impulsively. You may regret it. One of the best internet opportunities I signed up for cost me only $70 and it took me a few days to decide if it was right for me or not.

5. SHOW ME THE $$$MONEY$$$. Look for proof of earnings on the website. Copies of PayPal account summaries can be added to websites. These generally are good proof of income.

6. PROMISE OF GUARANTEED EARNINGS. Beware websites that promise your will earn “X” amount within a certain time frame. They simply cannot promise such things as your success depends on a variety of factors such as how much time you can put into it or what your background is.

7. THERE’S NO HURRY. Don’t rush into anything – the site will still be there tomorrow (well unless it’s a scam that has run it’s course!) and if you are drawn to a site again and again, your instincts may be telling you that it is genuine. But still don’t rush into anything without considering all of the above tips.

I hope these little snippets of advice help you to avoid getting ripped off. Please visit my website at www.moneymakingmap.net.

Website Traffic- The Worst Mistake You Can Make

January 17th, 2010 · Comments Off · Articles

In the past a person would have found it hard to get website traffic. Today that does not have to be the case. However, there is one mistake many people make when it comes to getting traffic to their website and we are going to talk about that in this article.
The Internet has become so large that few of us really understand the magnitude of it. The problem that many people make when it comes to getting website traffic is miscalculating how much competition there is and how much traffic it is going to take for them to actually make money.
I see this happen all the time! A person puts together what they think is a good advertising campaign. In reality they are getting just a few hundred visitors a day to their website.
Unless you are in a targeted niche, with little competition, a few hundred website visitors a day is not going to make a big difference in your income. You have to expand your thinking way beyond that and start thinking in terms of thousands of visitors a day.
You know that there are websites on the Internet today that get over a million visitors a year? Did you know that there is websites getting over a million visitors on month! Some of these are your competitors, and this should give you an idea of how much website traffic it is going to take for you to make money online.
This article isn’t meant to scare you off, as much as it is to try to get you to develop a larger image in your mind of the work that you need to do to get website traffic. It is possible to develop free or nearly free internet traffic, but as you begin to attempt to hit the larger numbers you will need to look at paying for traffic.
A Google Adwords pay per click campaigns is one way to do that. Paying for services to automate your business such as article submissions is a great way to maximize the time you are spending getting website traffic. Other forms of paid advertising that can work include banner advertising, ezine advertising, directory submissions, and so on.
As you begin to monitor how your business is doing, hopefully this article will make you realize you are going to have to achieve high traffic numbers to be competitive online and to make the income you deserve.

Internet Business Advertising – 2 Ways Building Website Traffic Can Pay Off For Your Business

January 17th, 2010 · Comments Off · Articles

The purpose of internet business advertising is to generate traffic. Are you a hurry to get traffic to your website? If you asked that question to most Internet marketers the reply would probably be yes. However getting website traffic is not as simple as it sounds. In this article let’s look at two ways building website traffic can pay off for you.
1. The fastest way to get traffic to any website is to purchase it. The most common way to do this is to start a pay per click advertising campaign. And the most popular pay per click search engine available that you can purchase a campaign on is Google Adwords.
One thing that is not often discussed is that the majority of people who run a campaign on Google Adwords do not make money. In reality they actually spend more money than they earn revenue for.
Therefore it makes sense that you need to study and learn the proper internet business advertising techniques before you jump into pay per click advertising. This makes sense for any form of Internet advertising, but when you are actually spending your hard earned money you really need to work hard to make it pay off.
2. The opposite way of getting traffic fast is to build an organic advertising campaign based on getting back links. A back link is where you have your website address on somebody else’s website.
The reason this is slower than purchasing traffic is because you have to earn your back links one link at a time. Of course the benefit to this is you are not actually investing any money but rather you’re investing your time to do this.
For example, you can write an article with a resource box that contains your website address. You then submit this article to an article directory and when they publish it online you have just created a back link to your website.
Before you get too excited about this you have to understand that there are literally billions of websites on the Internet today. All of these are trying to get traffic one way or another and article marketing has proven to be a great source of free traffic.
To make article marketing pay off for you then you must have a lot of articles online, and you must be in the best directories that get traffic. The only way to do this is to consistently work on it on a daily basis.
In summary when you consider internet business advertising, these are two ways of building website traffic that can pay off for you. You have to decide either to purchase it or work hard to create an organic advertising campaign. Both can offer success, so it largely depends and your budget and your patience.

7 Ways to Get FREE Website Traffic and Make More Money Now

January 16th, 2010 · Comments Off · Articles

We all want the same goal: to Make More Money, but the lifeblood of our Internet Business is traffic. Most of us when first starting out on the Web had, shall we say, less than an ideal amount of marketing dollars to spend on Traffic Generation. What’s a website owner to do? Well, here’s a quick and dirty list of 7 ways to get FREE Website Traffic.
As a bonus when using all of these methods, you’ll not only get Free Traffic, but you’ll attract Targeted Traffic, which is the holy grail of online visitors. Make it a point to use all of these methods as often as you can cram into your schedule and you’ll start to be rewarded handsomely after a couple months of patience and diligent work.Backlinks through Comments on other Blogs
Search for high-ranking blogs in or related to your industry and leave regular comments on their posts. Get the Google Toolbar when checking out each site so you can see the PageRank. Really, when you’re just starting out, pretty much anything that has some history and pagerank will help, but if you want to supercharge your results, aim for high pagerank posts that use similar keywords as you. Just make sure you’re actually adding to the conversation and not just typing a couple words for the sole purpose of getting a backlink. Also, check the source code for comments to make sure the links aren’t rel=”nofollow” so that you’re getting credit for all your posts.Niche Forums
Find forums that are related to your site and become a regular contributor to them. Edit your profile and add a quick call to action with a link to your website in your signature so that everytime you make a post or reply it will automatically insert a backlink for you. Don’t be spammy with your writing; add value to the community.Social Networking
I know this one is mentioned everywhere, but still holds true today. Sign up for accounts on Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, and Twitter and draft quality information with links in your profile back to your site. Concentrate on useful content with emphasis on building lasting relationships with everyone you meet.Article Marketing
There are numerous Article Directories where you can submit your work to that all include a Resource Box containing a brief sales pitch and link back to you. Some of the more popular directories can be found at Ezine Articles, Buzzle, GoArticles, and iSnare. I recently wrote an in-depth post on how to Get Free Traffic with Article Marketing if you’d like to find out more about this topic (link to blog below this article).YouTube and other Video Communities
Open up a YouTube account and spend some time filling out your profile with links to your site and start posting informative videos related to your niche. Make sure to use the description field to your advantage whenever posting videos because it allows you to add more info and keywords that will help your video get ranked higher in the search engines, especially Google, since they own it. Don’t forget to put your web address at the beginning of your description, including the “http://” so it can show up as a clickable link in the “more info” section of the page.
It may seem obvious, but remember to edit your web address into the video at key moments to further expose your site and gain popularity. My Videos are more than Moving Pictures when it comes to Internet Marketing post gives more info (link to blog below this article).Yahoo! Answers
Get a Yahoo! Answers account and fill-out your profile with website backlink and start answering questions related to your niche. Really try and provide quality responses that help their problems and you may even get picked as a “best answer” and drive a good amount of traffic back to your website.
Additionally, you can link your Yahoo 360 account to this profile for even more exposure. Give great advice, while posting often and you can expect a great response for your efforts. As you complete more and more answers, you have a rating that increases to further boost your expertise in that topic.Link Exchange with others
The age-old link exchange still has its place in building free traffic and can really thrust your site into stardom if you can build a friendship with the right person. Try opening up the lines of communication between several key owners of popular sites in your niche or a related one and work on building up a trusting work relationship. After some time, go ahead and ask for the link or to write a post as a guest author and see what happens. You don’t know what someone will say or offer if you don’t try in the first place.
Use of these methods will really help with getting Free Website Traffic to your site and the great thing is that all of them will provide long-term results. They build upon one another and each and every link is an additional small boost in traffic. Eventually and with determination, you’ll grow a river of continually flowing traffic that will ultimately allow you to Make More Money Online.
